Our surf rental fleet allows you to arrive light in Essaouira and take the equipment adapted to your level and the swell. Soft top for beginners who want stability and forgiveness in the event of a fall. Hard top for riders who have their basics and are looking for more responsiveness on the wave. Wetsuit included in all packs: no extra, no surprises.
The team will guide you before the session: board size according to your weight, suit adapted to the temperature, quick reading of the conditions and areas to favor according to your level.
What is included
Safety leash
Controlled and adapted to the board. Mandatory to go out: it attaches the board to your ankle so that it does not go back to the beach each time you fall.
Neoprene suit
Included in each rental. The Moroccan Atlantic is cooler than you imagine, even in summer. A 3/2 mm is enough from June to September.
Spot advice
Quick reading of swell, wind and tide to avoid a section that is too hollow, too windy or too busy.
Our boards
Soft top (foam)
From 7 to 9 feet depending on the models available. Stable, buoyant, forgiving in the event of a fall: no sharp rails. The most reassuring choice to start or resume after a break.
Hard top
From 6'2 to 7'6. For riders who have their basics and are looking for more responsiveness on the wave. Allows tighter turns and better reading of the wall.
Choice of volume
Our team adjusts the size according to your weight, your level and the current swell. Don't settle on a specific size until you speak with us.
Required level
Unsupervised surf rental is open to all levels, including beginners. Unlike kitesurfing or wingfoiling, there is no mandatory prior assessment to rent independently.
If it's your very first time on a board, we still recommend that you start with one or two lessons: you will progress much faster than by trying alone, and you will avoid bad habits that take months to correct.
Conditions in Essaouira depending on the season
Summer (June-September)
Small and regular waves in the bay, ideal for beginners. The best surf sessions are often in the morning, before the trade winds rise and chop up the surface. In the afternoon, it's time for wingfoil and kitesurfing.
Fall-winter (October-April)
More Atlantic swell, more formed and more powerful waves. Better conditions for intermediates looking to progress to real sections. Beginners can still come if the swell is moderate.
Combine rental and excursion
Independent rider and want to get out of the bay? Our surf excursions include transport to Sidi Kaouki or Imsouane, with a spot briefing before hitting the water. You can come with your rental board or with your own equipment.
Sidi Kaouki (half day): €30: more powerful beach break for intermediates, 30 minutes south. Imsouane (full day): €50: legendary long right-hander, for all levels except big swells, at 1h15.
