A school born on the beach of Essaouira, built by local riders, certified instructors and years of experience in the bay.
Before the Seagull Club, there was the KSE School - Kitesurf Essaouira. That's where we learned to really teach - not just to ride, but to pass on. To manage a windy spot with students of very different levels, to adapt, to build a progression that holds.
Years of training beginners, supporting experienced riders, welcoming riders from all over Europe and beyond. These hundreds of students have trusted us to guide them safely in their adventures in surfing, kitesurfing and, more recently, wingfoiling.
One day on the beach, we watched a seagull working the wind above the bay. It hovered over the thermals, skimmed the surface, and rose upwind without apparent effort. This is exactly what we seek to teach our students - to read the wind, to find balance, to let yourself be carried rather than to force them. The name stood out.

This is the most impactful investment we have made in the quality of education. A instructor in your ear that tells you what to correct at the exact moment is another dimension of coaching.
The Seagull Club was not designed as a large course factory. We prefer to know the students, understand their real level and propose the right format rather than filling slots without logic. A beginner who is discovering surfing, a kitesurfer who wants to regain confidence and a wingfoil rider who is looking for his first flights do not need the same rhythm.
This approach requires more attention, but it fits the spot. In Essaouira, conditions change quickly: the wind rises, the tide moves, the bay fills up, the waves form differently depending on the day. Our role is to sort things out for you and turn these conditions into progress, not confusion.
This is also what explains the club's place in the lives of passing riders: we answer course questions, but also very concrete questions about rental, storage, accommodation and the best times to enjoy the bay.
Everything we do is anchored in Essaouira. We didn't stop there to "exploit the spot" - we're from here. Our instructors speak French, English and Arabic. They'll talk to you about wind direction before talking about technique - because here it all starts with reading the conditions.
This local culture is also seen in the advice we give outside of the water: where to sleep, when to come, how to store your equipment, which spot to choose depending on the swell, what times to avoid if the wind becomes too strong. We want visitors to leave with a better understanding of Essaouira, not just a session photo.
